An award-winning critic and journalist, Kieron Gillen wrote for organizations such as PC Gamer, The Guardian, Rock, Paper, Shotgun and WIRED before turning his attention to comics. His previous credits include the critically lauded Phonogram with frequent creative partner Jamie McKelvie, as well as Thor, S.W.O.R.D. and Generation Hope. Gillen relaunched two long-standing Marvel series in Uncanny X-Men and Journey into Mystery before again teaming with McKelvie for an acclaimed take on Young Avengers. Gillen turned his attention to Iron Man for Marvel NOW! and proved the perfect scribe to put carefully chosen words into the mouth of a legendary Star Wars villain in Darth Vader. Gillen introduced Doctor Aphra into the galaxy far, far away in those pages, and continues her adventures in her own series.

Italian artist Carmine Di Giandomenico drew Zeb Wells’ gritty Daredevil: Battlin’ Jack Murdock limited series and visualized the highly stylized, street-level suspense of Spider-Man Noir with writers David Hine and Fabrice Sapolsky. With writer Greg Rucka, he pitted Frank Castle against the Avengers in Punisher: War Zone. He later united with Peter David to deliver a fresh take on a familiar team in All-New X-Factor for All-New Marvel NOW!

Stephanie Hans has provided covers for the relaunched Journey into Mystery and other Marvel titles. After illustrating Avengers Origins: Ant-Man & the Wasp, she moved from the Marvel Universe to Stephen King’s Mid-World with Dark Tower: The Gunslinger — The Way Station.

The career of British-born artist Alan Davis took off like a rocket after his humble beginnings at Marvel UK. Continuing the collaboration that saw Captain Britain become an enduring critical and fan-favorite, the two co-created D.R. and Quinch. Davis broke into U.S. comics with runs on Batman and the Outsiders and Detective Comics. Hired by Marvel U.S. in 1986, Davis launched Excalibur with Chris Claremont, and the book quickly became one of Marvel mutantdom’s most unique and humorous titles. When Davis took over as writer, he continued many plot threads from his Captain Britain run. Davis also created the super-hero family ClanDestine, and wrote and drew the DC miniseries JLA: The Nail. After a lengthy arc writing and drawing X-Men, Davis went on to work on the miniseries Killraven, Fantastic Four: The End and a ClanDestine revival. He has also illustrated writer Brian Michael Bendis’ Avengers Prime and contributed to the status-quo-changing X-Men: Schism, later helping relaunch Wolverine with writer Paul Cornell.
