Revisit the vampire tale that kick-started a modern horror comics revival in this second collected deluxe edition.

A town plunged into darkness, a group of vampires hungry for blood, and only a husband-and-wife sheriff’s team to stop them. This premise set the stage for an iconic horror franchise that went on to become a feature-length film from Sony Pictures in 2007. The story continues far beyond Barrow in this second deluxe edition.

Co-creators Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith, joined by new writers Matt Fraction and Dan Wickline, continue the vampyric saga in Bloodsucker Tales, The Journal of John Ikos, Dead Space, Picking up the Pieces, and Spreading the Disease, plus a number of extras that go behind the scenes of this innovative horror series!
Steve Niles is a comic book author and novelist known for works such as 30 Days of Night; Criminal Macabre; Simon Dark; Frankenstein Alive, Alive; Mystery Society; and Batman: Gotham County Line. He is credited among other contemporary writers with bringing horror comics back to prominence.

Ben Templesmith is a New York Times best-selling artist and writer most widely known for his work in the comic book industry where he has received multiple nominations for the International Horror Guild Awards, as well as the industry’s top prize, the Eisner Award. He also won a Spike TV Scream Award. As a creator, his most notable works have been 30 Days of Night (which spawned a major motion picture) and Fell. His other projects include the critically acclaimed serial Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse, as well as Welcome to Hoxford and Singularity 7, all of which he also wrote.

Matt Fraction writes comic books out in the woods and lives with his wife, the writer Kelly Sue DeConnick. He’s a New York Times best-selling donkus of comics like Sex Criminals (winner of the 2014 Will Eisner Award for Best New Series, the 2014 Harvey Award for Best New Series, and named TIME Magazine’s Best Comic of 2013), Satellite Sam, ODY-C, Hawkeye (winner of the 2014 Will Eisner Award for Best Single Issue), wrote the longest consecutive run when re-relaunced The Invincible Iron Man (2010 Eiser Award winner for Best New Series) with Salvador Larocca and so many more.

Dan Wickline is a writer/photographer/bassist living in Los Angeles, CA. In comics, he has written for the 30 Days of Night and Grimm’s Fairy Tales franchises as well as the ongoing ShadowHawk and 1001 Arabian Nights: The Adventures of Sinbad. He’s also written prose for characters such as the Phantom, the Green Hornet, and his own creation, Lucius Fogg. As a photographer, Dan has been featured in numerous gallery shows, as well as a collection of his black-and-white work, which was published under the title Private Skin. Dan had a brief moment in the Hollywood spotlight playing a corpse on the hit series Dexter but now spends his spare time as the bassist for the newly formed metal band Murder Most Foul.
