NEW GRAPHIC NOVEL DEBUT from the Eisner-nominated creative team of Skyward!
For fans of OCEANS 11, INCEPTION, LUCIFER, and OUT OF SIGHT.
Owen and Carlie are the Bonnie and Clyde of the 21st century-a smooth, slick duo who pull off impossible heists and have the time of their lives doing it. But when justice finally catches up to them, they think it's all over. Until the Devil himself offers them a deal-their freedom for their very SOULS.
But they soon find that without their souls, their love is missing too. So they set out to recruit a crew of the damned for the ultimate heist: break into Hell and steal their souls back. Joe Henderson (Skyward, Shadecraft, Netflix's Lucifer) and Lee Garbett (Daredevil, Skyward, Loki, Uncanny Spider-Man) invite you on a thrilling journey to a Hell you've never seen before. A place perfectly designed to give people hope, so that the devil can torture them with it when he takes it away. Again and again.
That's right, Hell is a CASINO. And even with the greatest team of thieves, the house always wins.
Joe Henderson was the co-showrunner of the Netflix hit series Lucifer, and is an Eisner-nominated writer, co-creating the books Skyward and Shadecraft with artist Lee Garbett. He was Consulting Producer on the Stephen King limited series 11.22.63 for Hulu, as well as Co-EP on Almost Human, White Collar, and Graceland. Joe is the Co-CEO of Magic Quill Productions, a showrunner-led production company.
Lee Garbett is an Eisner-nominated artist and co-creator of Skyward and Shadecraft (Image Comics). As well as creator-owned projects, Lee is currently working on Marvel’s Uncanny Spider-Man. His other works include The Death of Doctor Strange, Loki: Agent of Asgard, Captain Marvel, and Spider-Man for Marvel, as well as Batman, Catwoman, Lucifer, and Batgirl for DC. Lee also regularly works on costumes and character art for film and TV.
"a supernatural heist story...with a central love story that is compelling enough that you can easily see why someone would go to the depths of hell to make it all work out."
"Henderson excels at coming up with a group of people who all have distinctive personalities...Garbett does a great job developing each of the character's personalities through the use of facial expressions."
"a clever twist on old tropes...The Big Burn is a hell of a fun heist story."
