AJ Ampadu was born in Buffalo, New York, and grew up immersing himself in science fiction, fantasy, and comic books. He studied creative writing and biology at the University of Rochester and then pursued a career in music and creative writing.
As a writer, Ampadu digitally released the graphic novel Gateway to Greatness through Comixology and launched his comic book imprint, EarthTone Kingdom, in 2022. He has also written articles on music, film, and comic books and made his mainstream comic writing debut in 2024 with Ninjak vs. Roku, Shadowman: Soul Eaters, and Resurgence of the Valiant Universe for Valiant Comics and Alien Books.
Under the name P.SO the EarthTone King, he has released critically acclaimed albums and taught creativity to students at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art. He currently lives in Newark, New Jersey, with his wife, son, and cat, Sasuke.
