Yara Flor is very unsure about the responsibility of leading a teen girl superhero squad. Wonder Woman encourages her to try—and even brings donuts—but their first meet-up is crashed by Princess Maxima!
Maxima’s life has been nothing but princess studies, princess duties, and princess training. While planning her coming-of-age ceremony, she realizes she’s been so busy she doesn’t have any friends to invite! No matter: by royal decree, Yara Flor, Steel, and Miss Martian legally have to accompany Maxima to her planet! Surely, they’ll become friends during their road trip…through the stars!
But when their ship is stolen, a simple trip turns into an epic adventure! Can they get their ship back, find some socks, help Superman escape a dungeon, rescue an entire planet, and make it back to Maxima’s home planet in time for her ceremony?
Teen heroes unite in this new middle-grade graphic novel from the writing team of Tilly & Susan Bridges and artist Alba Glez!
Tilly & Susan Bridges are writers of animation, screenplays, pilots, comics, books, podcasts, and games, with an emphasis on hope-fueled sci-fi and a sprinkle (or three) of comedy! Their stories explore how personal identity shapes us—delving into who we are, who we can become, how we can get there, and what we owe to each other along the way.
Their projects include writing for season two of the Monster High animated series (for which their “The Monster Fest” special episodes won an inaugural Velma Award for LGBTQIA+ representation in children’s media), the Star Trek Voyager: Homecoming miniseries for IDW, and Just Another Summer, a queer trans YA romcom graphic novel from Mad Cave. They also consulted on season two of Star Trek: Prodigy. You can find Tilly’s weekly essays on trans life at TillysTransTuesdays.com.
Alba Glez is a Mexican comic artist and author whose work shines with the expressivity of her characters. She has worked for Marvel, penciling Giant-size Spider-Gwen, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, and Amazing Spider-Man among others. She’s also won two Mexican national comic awards and is the creator of the graphic novel All the songs I Want to Forget, published in France. Alba now lives in England and she loves to go and speak with the animals at farms and sanctuaries.... They rarely respond, though.
