A new cosmic threat puts the entire DC Universe at risk! It’s a job not even Superman can handle, in this consequential early-2000s era event now collected in omnibus editions!
The start of the new millennium marked a turning point for Superman at DC Comics, with talent including Jeph Loeb, Joe Kelly, Doug Mahnke, and Ed McGuinness joining the franchise—and delivering shocking new developments, like Lex Luthor successfully running for President of the United States!
This new Superman status quo led to a major DC event called “Our Worlds at War,” with the planet-destroying Imperiex heading to Earth—and the Man of Steel and the heroes of the DC Universe overwhelmed in their attempt to stop it, as the planet is ravaged with fire and destruction.
With the fate of the world at stake, the Man of Steel is left no choice but to forge uncertain alliances with President Luthor, Darkseid, Mongul, and other dubious allies!
This volume collects the first section of the "Our Worlds at War" event, including Superman #151-154, #159, #165, #170-171; Adventures of Superman #576, #586, #592-#593; Action Comics #763, #777, #779-780; Superman: The Man of Steel #98, #109, #114-115; Superboy #89; Wonder Woman #171; Superman Y2K #1; Superman: Metropolis Secret Files #1; Superman: Lex 2000 #1; Superman: Our Worlds at War Secret Files #1; Young Justice: Our Worlds at War #1; Batman: Our Worlds at War #1; Green Lantern: Our Worlds at War #1.
Joe Kelly broke into the comics industry in 1995 as the first successful "graduate" of the Stan-Hattan Project, a writing workshop conducted as a joint venture between Marvel Comics and NYU's Department of Dramatic Writing. Joe's flair for dialogue and characterization captured the attention of Marvel editors. Kelly's comics work includes Deadpool, Justice League Elite, Action Comics, Steampunk, and many other titles. His story "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice and The American Way?" inspired the Warner Bros. Home Video movie Superman Vs. The Elite. He is a member of the group Man of Action, which created the hit animated TV series Ben 10.
