" If you like Sherlock detective stories with a mix oddball witchcraft, steampunk technology, and gun-totting action from the wild Victorian England time period – then Newbury and Hobbes are on the case." - Retrenders

"Extremely fun to read with lovable, well-developed characters." - 8 Days a Geek

"This collection is highly recommended, especially for those who already know and love our intrepid steampunk duo." - Nerds in Babeland

"Mann knows his characters and the world that they live in and the interaction between the two is sublime. If any of aspects of this book seem like they would appeal to you as a reader, then they probably will. Get to know George Mann and his literary children Newbury and Hobbes, then invite them over for Christmas, or whatever holiday you celebrate, they will be outstanding guests." - Pop Cults

"An enjoyable read" - Ravenous Monster

"A delight to read and it definitely makes one want to read Mann’s other Newbury and Hobbes stories" - Trash Mutant

" George Mann is an exceptional author who kept my interest piqued and never failed to surprise me. I am very eager to read more from him in the near future as I know he is a veritable treasure trove of talent just waiting to be discovered." - Fiction Addict

"These stories were exciting, sometimes scary, and altogether intriguing. I can’t say that I’m usually this satisfied with every story in an anthology, but with this one, I was. The stories were short and plucky enough to hold my attention, and they stopped at just the right time–when I wanted more." - Criminal Element

"if you love great characters, good plotting, twists and turns, and a large story-arc that slowly develops and grabs hold, you really owe it to yourself to give the Newbury and Hobbes novels a read." - Geek Dad

"Fans of Sherlock Holmes and steampunk will particularly enjoy these stories, though anyone with a taste for adventure will find much to like here." - Pop Mythology

"Mann’s deft hand with suspense and occasional moments of self-aware slyness kept Newbury & Hobbes readable" - Dorkadia

"The stories were nicely varied, both in tone, event, and structure. Straightforward mystery, non-linear recollection, and semi-epistolary investigation coincide nicely in this book, and keep each story feeling fresh and new" - Paper Droids

"A perfect starting point for both new and existing readers of Newbury & Hobbes - one of the best Gothic detective series around that you just shouldn't miss!" - Upcoming4.me

"A fun read." - Atomic Moo
