Vrrrm! Trucks and other vehicles are zooming by! But in this relatable board book, why is the school bus the one to watch for?

One eager little brother is at home, playing alone. He listens and looks out for a variety of trucks and vehicles that pass by his home. But he's really hoping the big yellow bus will be next.

At long last, at the end of the school day, the bus pulls up--with his big sister on board!

A perfect read for toddlers who love all things that go and are excited to welcome their older siblings home after school.

All day a young boy sits by the window waiting for his older sister to get home from school. Whenever he hears the sound of a car, he quickly peeks out the window to see if it is the school bus. He listens for the bus but instead hears the "Boom" of a garbage truck and the "Vrrrm" of a motorcycle. As the day passes by, the boy plays with his toys, until finally, he hears "Eeep!... Eeep!" The boy runs outside to find his sister arrived home. They share a warm hug and spend time together playing. This special story is a beautiful depiction of sibling bonds. Young children will be encouraged to not take their siblings for granted but rather cherish the time they spend together. Older siblings will also be reminded their younger siblings often look up to them, thus, instead of pushing them away, it is important to show them you love them. This board book is perfect for children aged 2-4.
Children's Literature

In this vehicle-heavy board book, a young boy waits for his big sister. He plays throughout the day but continually looks out the window at each new noise. “Is that the bus? WAAA! WOOOOO! But it’s not the bus. WAAAA! WOOOOO! The fire truck wails away.” A variety of vehicles, including a garbage truck, dump truck, and motorcycle, make appearances in this title. VERDICT The soft lines, bright palette, and sparse text make this a first purchase for libraries.
