Meet Alma’s favorite toy animals . . . in two languages! The celebrated series of bilingual board books continues—starring the subject of the Caldecott Honor Book Alma and How She Got Her Name.

If you know little Alma, you know she loves animals! Just ask her flying friend Pajarito. Alma’s favorite dog tells her woof. The cat says meow, and the cow goes moooo. What do the sheep, the duckies, and the fishies say? And what do you think the piggie says when they roll downhill? In this fifth entry in the joyful board book series Alma’s Words/Las palabras de Alma, award-winning author-illustrator Juana Martinez-Neal shares Alma’s affection for the friendly creatures in her life, with words and simple phrases in English and Spanish on every spread.
Juana Martinez-Neal is the Peruvian-born daughter and granddaughter of painters.
