The most vicious team of antiheroes in the Marvel Universe assembles! Wolverine! Venom! Elektra! Punisher! Doctor Voodoo! And in their midst – Conan the Barbarian! Together, they are the Savage Avengers, here to take on the terrifying threats no other team can handle – like when the deadly ninja army known as the Hand teams up with the evil wizards of another age to summon a death god from a celestial hell. From the Savage Land to Latveria, Conan’s travels unite him with suitably savage warriors – including the Black Widow, Daimon Hellstrom…and even Doctor Doom! But as the dreaded secret of the sorcerer Kulan Gath’s power is revealed, can Doctor Strange and Elektra deal with this unbelievable horror? Or are they otherwise occupied? Plus: Something is killing the Shuma-Goraths! Collecting SAVAGE AVENGERS (2019) #1-12 and ANNUAL #1, SAVAGE AVENGERS (2019) #0 [including UNCANNY X-MEN (1981) #190-191], and material from FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2019 (AVENGERS/SAVAGE AVENGERS).
Gerry Duggan has become one of Marvel’s most influential writers, having first made an impression at the House of Ideas with a lengthy and always surprising Deadpool run alongside his frequent writing partner, Brian Posehn. Among Duggan’s solo credits are Nova, Hulk and multiple tie-ins to the Secret Wars event. He added Deadpool to the revamped roster of Uncanny Avengers and brought his unique blend of action and humor to All-New Guardians of the Galaxy, leading up to the cosmic event series Infinity Wars. Marauders and Cable established him as a vital part of the storytelling team for the Dawn of X era, a role he has cemented further by launching the blockbuster new X-Men title. Duggan’s earlier collaboration with artist Phil Noto — The Infinite Horizon, a reimagining of Homer’s The Odyssey in a dystopian future — earned an Eisner Award nomination for Best New Series.

Artist Mike Deodato Jr. was already a renowned illustrator in his native Brazil when he got his big break in American comics in 1994, illustrating DC’s Wonder Woman. For Marvel, he drew such series as Avengers, Elektra, Spider-Man and Incredible Hulk. After refining his inimitable style on the creator-owned Jade Warriors, he returned to Marvel for a second turn on Incredible Hulk, with writer Bruce Jones, and a stint on J. Michael Straczynski’s Amazing Spider-Man. Deodato has forged an association with the Avengers on various titles — including collaborations with Brian Michael Bendis, Ed Brubaker and Jonathan Hickman — and demonstrated his superstar status on the event book Original Sin. Deodato joined writer Jeff Lemire in exploring one of Marvel's greatest villains in Thanos.

Kim Jacinto honed his skills as a conceptual artist. Since breaking into comics, the Filipino artist has illustrated Venom, Indestructible Hulk, Carnage Annual and Thunderbolts for Marvel. Angela, Queen of Hel is his longest Marvel run so far.

Patrick “Patch” Zircher got his start illustrating RPG-based comics for Eclipse and 3D comics for Blackthorne during the late 1980s, and drew Now Comics’ Green Hornet. He has been an artist in demand ever since. His notable Marvel credits across the decades include New Warriors, Venom: Along Came a Spider, Star Trek: Early Voyages, Iron Man: The Iron Age, Thunderbolts, Cable & Deadpool, Iron Man, Hulk, Mystery Men and Savage Avengers.
