But although Carol has a bright future, she can't walk away from a challenge from her past. It's a firefight in the sky as the Banshee Squadron makes its debut! Then, what does Monica Rambeau, the former Captain Marvel, make of Carol's new moniker? And who, exactly, are the Carol Corps? Plus: Shocking secrets abound in Captain Marvel's definitive origin as she faces a painful family reunion - and her full connection to the alien Kree stands revealed! A deadly weapon has been unleashed, and Carol's sleepy coastal hometown won't know what hit it! Collecting CAPTAIN MARVEL (2012) #1-8 and #17, and THE LIFE OF CAPTAIN MARVEL #1-5.
Writer Kelly Sue DeConnick spent seven years adapting manga works into English for Viz Media and Tokyopop, which she credits for her flair for dialogue. She co-wrote 30 Days of Night: Eben & Stella with Steve Niles before wowing readers with her Captain Marvel run that saw Carol “Ms. Marvel” Danvers finally take on the full heroic legacy of Captain Marvel. Her Marvel credits also include Avengers Assemble, the highly acclaimed Osborn limited series and the one-shot Sif spotlighting the Thor heroine.

Margaret Stohl is the #1 New York Times best-selling co-author of the Beautiful Creatures novels (also a major motion picture) and the author of the instant New York Times bestseller Black Widow: Forever Red and its sequel, Black Widow: Red Vengeance, as well as a contributor to multiple Marvel comics. Previously, Stohl was a veteran of the video game industry, working as a writer and designer before co-founding 7 Studios with Lewis Peterson.

Following his dynamic and eye-catching work on Marvel UK’s Dark Guard, Spanish artist Carlos Pacheco went on to illustrate Bishop, X-Universe, Starjammers and Excalibur for Marvel before becoming regular penciler on X-Men. He then teamed with Kurt Busiek on the fan-favorite Avengers Forever. Pacheco wrote and drew Fantastic Four, and penned a spinoff Inhumans limted series. His first work upon returning to Marvel in 2009 was Ultimate Comics: Avengers with writer Mark Millar. He subsequently helped relaunch Uncanny X-Men with Kieron Gillen.
