The origin of X-23! Cloned from Wolverine's cells and ruthlessly conditioned by her harsh masters at the Facility, young Laura Kinney is the perfect assassin. But when she breaks free at last, can she rise above her training and killer instincts to forge her own path in the world? Or will the gallons of blood she has spilled drag her down? Follow Laura's journey of self-determination - including a search for family and friendship, her first meeting with Wolverine himself, her alliance with Gambit and a deadly clash with Logan's vicious son, Daken! But when memories threaten to overwhelm her, can Laura defeat the darkness within? Collecting X-23 (2005) #1-6, X-23: TARGET X #1-6, X-23 (2010A) #1, X-23 (2010B) #1-21, CAPTAIN UNIVERSE/X-23 #1 and DAKEN: DARK WOLVERINE #8-9 - plus material from X-MEN: TO SERVE AND PROTECT #2, WOLVERINE: THE ROAD TO HELL and ALL-NEW WOLVERINE SAGA.
X-23 debuted in the X-Men: Evolution animated series as the brainchild of writer Craig Kyle. Sparked by the character’s dual success on both the small screen and in the NYX comic book, Kyle revealed this ferocious fighter’s secret origin in the X-23 limited series with co-writer Christopher Yost and artist Billy Tan. Kyle and Yost have also co-written X-23: Target X, New X-Men and the relaunched X-Force. Kyle was a key producer on Marvel Studios’ Thor movie.

Christopher Yost got his start in animation writing for the series X-Men: Evolution; he quickly worked his way up to head writer of shows like Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes, Iron Man: Armored Adventures and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and the animated DVDs Hulk Vs. and Next Avengers. Yost broke into comics with his work on X-23 and is known for hard-hitting series like New X-Men, X-Force and the runaway hit Scarlet Spider.

Marjorie Liu is a former lawyer turned New York Times-bestselling author most famous for her Dirk & Steele and Hunter Kiss series of romance novels. A diehard comics fan, her first foray in the medium produced the NYX series No Way Home. Subsequent credits include Black Widow, X-23 and Daken: Dark Wolverine (with Daniel Way); she has also written the novel X-Men: Dark Mirror.

Malaysian-American artist Billy Tan, having gained attention drawing projects including Tomb Raider and Tales of Witchblade for Top Cow, joined Marvel in 2004. He illustrated X-23 and Marvel Knights Spider-Man before a career-making run on Uncanny X-Men propelled him into the spotlight. Named a Marvel Young Gun in 2007, Tan went on to pencil New Avengers, Dark Reign: The List — Daredevil, Thor and the Shadowland miniseries. He later illustrated his first project at DC, Green Lantern. Tan lives in Sydney, Australia, with his wife and two children.

Mike Choi exploded on the comic scene at Top Cow Productions, where he garnered acclaim for his art on Witchblade, the company’s most recognized and top-selling title. Choi achieved further accolades for his work on Marvel’s X-23: Target X, Uncanny X-Men and X-Force.

Discovered during Marvel’s Chesterquest international talent search in 2009, Portuguese artist Filipe Andrade quickly rose to prominence with assignments on the limited series John Carter: A Princess of Mars, as well as contributions to Captain America, X-23 and Deadpool. He took on a theme-park legend in Disney Kingdoms: Figment and a very different iconic character in Old Man Logan.
