A new era rises in the darkness this Fall with Marvel’s launch of the Midnight Universe. Over 80 years of hope vanishes within the shadows of this new publishing line, with unforgettable and terrifying new takes on the heroes you know.

Marvel states, “This August, the Midnight Universe, will unleash haunting new visions of Marvel’s greatest icons starting with three titles: MIDNIGHT X-MEN by Jonathan Hickman (Ultimate Spider-Man) and Matteo Della Fonte (Nova: Centurion); MIDNIGHT FANTASTIC FOUR by Benjamin Percy (Punisher) and Kev Walker (Infernal Hulk); and MIDNIGHT SPIDER-MAN by Phillip Kennedy Johnson (Infernal Hulk) and, in his exciting Marvel Comics debut, artist Scie Tronc.”

Longtime fans and newcomers alike will enter a frightening new world where anything can happen written by top writers and artists in the industry. Marvel plans to allow modern creators free rein to create shocking, chilling twists and transformations. As Marvel Midnight Universe tag line says, “The light had it’s turn”.

This new universe begins with The X-Men no longer dreaming of coexistence — now they crave bloodshed. The Fantastic Four push beyond the edges of the unknown not to protect humanity, but to bring havoc. And Spider-Man learns that with great power… comes a darkness beyond control.

Check out the Midnight Universe line up below and enjoy the light for now because darkness will be creeping in soon.

More will be unveiled in the months ahead, but Marvel has already revealed the main cover for MIDNIGHT X-MEN #1 by Dike Ruan. Befitting the line’s mysterious, ominous aura, the main covers of the MIDNIGHT titles will be Cloaked Covers, partially obscured with the full artwork revealed with a turn of the page. With the exception of the debut issues, the full artwork will remain shrouded in shadow, only revealing themselves to readers daring enough to pick them up on stands.
