Marvel’s Spider-Man/Superman #1 Cover, 2026
Marvel and DC proved last year that the appetite for crossovers is not just alive, but ravenous. Marvel’s Deadpool/Batman #1 deputed September 2025 and went back to press multiple times. DC’s version followed in November, with a new printing arriving later this month.
Now the two publishers are continuing the collaboration in 2026 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first Marvel/DC crossover (Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man) with Spider-Man/Superman #1 and Superman/Spider-Man #1. DC will kick off this one with Superman/Spider-Man #1 on March 25th, 2026, followed by Marvel’s Spider-Man/Superman #1 in April 2026.
Crossovers work because they tap into something fundamental about how comic readers think. Fans are constantly, intuitively asking “what if…”? What if a hero was dropped into a different moral universe? What if a familiar villain faced a hero who doesn’t play by the same rules? How would Superman handle the ruthless Norman Osborn? Could Spider-Man outthink and outmaneuver Lex Luthor? These stories don’t just mash characters together for spectacle, they fundamentally recontextualize beloved icons, breathing new life into figures readers thought they knew inside and out.

Marvel’s Spider-Man/Superman #1 creative team includes celebrated writers such as Brad Meltzer, Geoff Johns, Dan Slott, Brian Michael Bendis, Jason Aaron and artists Pepe Larraz, Gary Frank, Marcos Martin, and others. We will also see variants from Sara Pichelli, Walter Simonson, Greg Capullo, Peach Momoko, and more!
For retailers, this is not a release to treat casually. Between the proven performance of Deadpool/Batman, the historic significance of the 50th anniversary, the star power of both Spider-Man and Superman, and the excitement around 2025’s Superman film and 2026’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, this is positioned to be one of the year’s biggest single-issue events. This crossover will speak to longtime collectors, lapsed readers, and curious newcomers alike.
Retailers, stay tuned for more news, including ordering information, in the February 2026 catalog.
Writer Brad Meltzer recently stated, “I’ve been waiting 50 years to write this book,” and as readers, we’ve been waiting just as long to read it. Retailers, however, should not wait. After all, with great power comes great responsibility… to order accordingly…
