Curt Pires here. I’m excited to talk to you today about my new DSTLRY series GALACTIC.

Elevator pitch: Star Wars if it was directed by Tarantino. This is a big bold widescreen sci fi crime romance that is set across the backdrop of an interstellar war. It’s about a bounty hunter tasked with bringing home a runaway princess who is on a bender with a bunch of hippies. They hate each other at first, but as they’re thrust into an escalating series of violent and F***** up situations slowly but surely they start to fall in love. This book is perfect for fans of STAR WARS who feel underserved by the current films / tv stuff–or Gunn’s GOTG. For fans of comics like SAGA or SEX CRIMINALS. There is no other comic like this on the stands…and it’s a perfect handsell to fans of my current series LOST FANTASY. The same way we made the fantasy genre fresh and accessible with Lost Fantasy, we are doing for SCI-FI with Galactic.

Beyond that this is the best looking DSTLRY book in a long time… the work Amilcar and Lee are doing is just breathtaking. DSTLRY is the imax of comics and we crafted our story specifically for the format. I know these books are bigger and take up extra space in your shops–so I felt I needed to earn that space–by making the book as beautiful and compelling as possible.
