The American Library Association (ALA), a nonprofit organization that promotes libraries and library education, released their 2025 “Rainbow List”—showcasing the best in LGBTQ+ books for children and young adults. The committee, made up of librarians from across the US, selected 175 titles to include. Among them was 49 titles that you can order from PRH today!
Some graphic highlights from the list include:
Johanna Taylor’s The Ghostkeeper. Perfect for fans of everything from Lockwood & Co. to The Haunting of Hill House, this gothic graphic novel follows a young medium with the gift—or curse, as some might say—to communicate with the dead. This ghost story “powerfully, tenderly, and empathetically examines death, grief, and the afterlife” raved Kirkus in a starred review!
Blood City Rollers by V.P. Anderson. A perfectly paranormal graphic novel about a 13-year-old ice skater who embraces the dark side and finds her light when she joins a vampire roller derby team is to die for.
Full Shift: A Graphic Novel by Jennifer Dugan. In this queer, supernatural YA graphic novel from the author of Some Girls Do and the illustrator of Wonder Woman: Warbringer, a reluctant teen werewolf would do anything to be human—if that’s what it takes to win her crush’s heart.
Kuzushiro’s The Moon on a Rainy Night. A high school girl’s chance encounter with an enigmatic female classmate whose musical aspirations were complicated when an accident almost completely took her hearing leads to the slow blossoming of love. Perfect for fans of yuri series like Whisper Me a Love Song and sweet, sophisticated romances like A Sign of Affection. The first five volumes were all included on the Rainbow List.
