Careful who you assemble.
Marvel Studios dropped the first teaser trailer for Thunderbolts* this morning to a strong response from fans online. The film, releasing in theaters May 2025, gathers together past MCU villains and morally-questionable supporting characters to form a new team.
While the Thunderbolts of the comics has had a revolving roster of heroes, anti-heroes, reformed villains, and villains-under-disguise, the MCU version’s lineup includes Bucky AKA The Winter Soldier, Yelena Belova (the MCU’s new Black Widow), Red Guardian, Ghost, US Agent, Taskmaster, and the newly introduced Sentry. The film promises to answer questions left behind from previous MCU projects like Black Widow, Ant-Man and the Wasp, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, with Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine as the glue at the center.
