Kahhori, Indigenous Hero from Marvel Studios’ WHAT IF…?, Makes Comics Debut in November

By Zoey Willshire | September 17 2024 | Comics

The breakout original hero from the Marvel Animation’s Disney+ series What If…? Will be making her comics debut to celebrate Native American Heritage Month this November. Kahhori: Reshaper Of Worlds will be a special one-shot in the Marvel’s Voices comic line, introducing the Mohawk warrior Kahhori to readers.

She first appeared in the sixth episode of What If…? season two in 2023, where she was transported to another dimension known as the “Sky World” and gains superpowers from the Tesseract (or Space Stone). She uses her powers to defend Sky World as well as her village and fellow Mohawk people against the Spanish conquistadors. The episode and character, created by writer Ryan Little, were critically acclaimed and now stand as one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most popular original creations.

The upcoming one-shot comic will bring Kahhori to the 616-universe as she chases a threat out of the Sky World dimension and into the main Marvel comics continuity. Ryan Little returns to co-write the story alongside Indigenous creators Arihhonni “Honni” David and Kelly Lynne D’Angelo in their Marvel Comics debuts. It will feature art by acclaimed Marvel artists David Cutler, Jim Terry, and more.

Kahhori: Reshaper Of Worlds #1 goes on FOC on October 7th and is on sale November 6th to celebrate Native American Heritage Month. Check out the title below and you can read more about it in Marvel’s press release:
