The breakout fan-favorite character of Marvel’s WandaVision, Agatha Harkness, returns in her own series on Disney Plus. The first teaser trailer for Agatha All Along, named after the hit song from WandaVision, dropped earlier today. The teaser promises a direct continuation of Agatha’s story from WandaVision and also introduces several new and exciting characters. The cast includes new and returning actors including Kathryn Hahn, Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Debra Jo Rupp, Patti LuPone, and Aubrey Plaza.
While WandaVision had its witchy elements and some horror sensibilities, Agatha All Along seems to be leaning into full comedy-horror. The teaser starts with Agatha working as a detective investigating a Jane Doe, in a moment that evokes crime thrillers like True Detective. Agatha seems like she has no memory of the events of WandaVision or her identity as a witch. That doesn’t last long as Aubrey Plaza’s character is introduced to help Agatha claw her way out of the “distorted spell” she was trapped in by Wanda. From there the teaser montages though several scenes depicting Agatha reclaiming her powers, introducing all of the new characters, and showcasing some of the witches and monsters that will be featured in the series.
