Get ready to clutch your chest and put a hand up to your face because the first teaser trailer for Alien: Romulus has been released! An “interquel” set between the iconic franchise’s first two installments of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) comes with both of those filmmakers’, Ridley Scott’s and James Cameron’s, approval. The teaser promises plenty of reasons you’ll be squirming in your seats at the theater when the movie comes out on August 16th. Following a group of twenty-something colonizers and scavengers who have an, ahem, unfortunate encounter with a xenomorph inside an abandoned space station the claustrophobic nature of the original film are most certainly present as well as snippets of what appear to be epic action to rival the original sequel. Director Fede Álvarez has a pedigree for terrifying and thrilling experiences already with a filmography that includes Don’t Breathe (2016) and the remake of Evil Dead (2013) and his love of the franchise is evident from this footage.
