Dark Horse Comics is collaborating with famous online streamer Karl Jacobs to produce the comic book and graphic novel “Time Traveler Tales,” and issue #1 FOC’s this upcoming Monday, 11/6/23. If, like me, you are someone out of the loop on Karl Jacobs, here’s some quick background information!
- Karl Jacobs emerged into online fame via collaborations with online uberstar “MrBeast,” as part of his cast of regular on-screen supporting stars.
- Building off that success, Jacobs has built a sizeable online following himself, with 3.7 million subscribers on Twitch and another 4.25 million subscribers on YouTube. He has entered into commercial agreements with companies like Vans, who has seen his ability to get fans passionate about products he’s involved in promoting.
- His biggest anthology series are streamed adventures set in the “Dream SMP” world, using a Minecraft server to establish events and lore.
- This upcoming comic series “Time Traveler Tales” are all-ages stories inspired by these Dream SMP adventures.
- Announcements about this series are already seeing plenty of traction in non-comic press, providing a wonderful opportunity to bring in outside young fans who may prove hungry for these new stories set in their favorite world.
