Our modern culture remains influenced and indebted to past literary classics to this very day. Whether it be Homeric myths informing superhero stories, Mary Shelley’s innovations in the world of horror, or the seminal lessons from “The Bard” himself, William Shakespeare, the biggest works of the past continue to remain relevant and important. The graphic novel medium is an excellent opportunity for new readers to approach these works in a more accessible way, as well as providing freedom for the artist to imprint their own interpretations and impressions on these familiar works.
Below is a list of our current most popular adaptations carried by PRH, everything from Gareth Hinds’ rendition of The Iliad to Steerforth’s adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream to Candlewick’s retelling of The Great Gatsby. Future debuts, including the lovingly illustrated adaptation of Watership Down as well as a manga take on HP Lovecraft’s The Shadow Over Innsmouth are included as well.
