The second volume of Geis picks up right where the first graphic novel concluded: with the contenders divided against their will and thrown deeper into the mysterious game. Can the alliances of power be relied upon when so many rewards lay upon the line?

Deacons' stunning illustrations carry forward the compelling and critically acclaimed narrative as the trilogy reaches its midpoint.
Alexis Deacon graduated in 2001 with a first class honors degree in Illustration from the University of Brighton. Before graduating he was awarded the Burt Brill and Cardens award for the second best degree show at his University. The urge to draw has been with Alexis as long as he can remember. "I've probably drawn compulsively since the age of 3 or 4." Whenever he got bored playing with a particular toy as a child, rather than put it down and pick up something else as most kids would do he'd put the toy down and pick up a sketchbook to carry the game on through pictures on paper. He is best known for his children's picture books.
“Deacon wastes no time diving into the rich plot, large cast, and dense world-building, and his gorgeous artwork…adds to the vivid atmosphere and suspenseful plot.” –Booklist

“What a relief for the reader to take in the pages of Alexis Deacon's fantasy series Geis. . . Here the painted color and soft pastel palette seem natural to the story's setting within the past. It feels like the light is pouring through castle windows, or supplied by candles. The relief is not just in the way the palette soothes the eye. As we see these things that never existed, we are convinced that this is how they should look.” – The Comics Journal
