A strip mall heist, a satanic cult, and another lousy shift at a minimum wage job—grab a #2 with fries and settle in for a hilarious thrill ride!

Marty Tarantella has been flipping burgers for 15 years. He has no kids, no hobbies, no love interests, and, essentially, no life. But what he does have is a plan to change everything. Years of watching the daily rhythms of the neighboring stores has given Marty the idea for a perfect heist, but when he accidentally steals a supernatural weapon from a cult full of violent lunatics, the resulting Satanic panic will be way above his minimum-wage pay grade.

Nothing can prepare you for the coming of TRVE KVLT, a deliciously horrifying and hilarious new series from SCOTT BRYAN WILSON (Batman: Gotham Nights, Pennyworth) and LIANA KANGAS (Star Wars Adventures, She Said Destroy, Razorblades).
Scott Bryan Wilson writes comics and prose, including the fast-food crime series TRVE KVLT (IDW), as well as Batman Annual, Batman Gotham Nights, and Pennyworth (DC), Savage Tales, Elvira, and Altered Carbon: One Life, One Death (Dynamite), and the forthcoming graphic novel adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s InterWorld (HarperCollins), among many others. His short horror stories have appeared in the Denver Quarterly, Mid-American Review, Madame Gray’s Creep Show, The Horror Is Us, 3rd Bed, In the Shadow of the Horns, Liquid Imagination, Gravely Unusual, and others. He was born and raised in the South but now lives elsewhere.

Liana Kangas is a comic artist and writer whose two great loves are resonant stories and their loving and supportive community. They’ve previously drawn titles such as Star Wars Adventures for IDW, Tyranny Rex and Future Shocks for 2000AD, Razorblades for IMAGE COMICS, and Joan Jett and RZA work Z2 COMICS. They have co-created titles such as She Said Destroy (VAULT) and co-wrote Seeds of Eden (TKO) and TRVE KVLT (IDW ORIGINALS). Their work has been featured on covers for Image Comics, IDW, Scout, Dark Horse, and Ahoy and in award-winning anthologies published by IMAGE and A WAVE BLUE WORLD. When they’re not working on new comics, they can be found drumming, collecting vinyl, or reorganizing their rainbow-colored office with their dogs. (they/her)
“I love it. The dialogue is spot on and the artwork is excellent. Extremely well paced, great character development, and a cliffhanger leaving me wanting to learn more. Bravo.” — George Gustines, comics writer for The New York Times

“Nothing short  of a consummate consommé of comics.” –Comics Beat

“This deep personal storyline is intermingled with funny self-monologue and a colorful cast of characters…This levity adds significant complexity to a rather serious story.” –Major Spoilers

TRVE KVLT bends multiple genres to its will…a slow-burner, but such a reductive assessment does a disservice to the underlying layers presented in the tale.” –CBR

TRVE KVLT  is a comic for anyone that has ever stayed too long at a job they thought would be temporary and dreamed of having more out of life…I am definitely looking forward to the next issue to see how this plays out.” –Comic Book Yeti

“Wilson’s script plays with a very mundane and earthbound service industry setting to gradually pull the reader into a deeply compelling offbeat comedy.” –You Don’t Read Comics

“There are twists, cinnamon-scented scenes, dialogue peppered with bitter anecdotes, and lots more to keep you entertained, as this story of misguided losers and underachievers is just getting warmed up!” –The Fanboy Factor
